How To Display Full-Width Widgets in the Bottom Widget Area

Question:

"My customer wants the custom content in the bottom widget area to display all the way across the page instead of only using half the width. How can this be resolved?"

Answer:

To display custom content in the bottom widget area at full width (instead of half-width), you can use Dynamic Widget Placement, a GravityView feature that allows flexible placement of widgets and content across your views. This method works for all entries, not just single entries.

Steps to Enable Full-Width Custom Content:

  1. Enable Dynamic Widget Placement
    1. Navigate to GravityKit > Settings (1) in your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Under the GravityView section > General tab (2), enable Use Dynamic Widget Placement (3).
    3. Screenshot showing the Use Dynamic Widget Placement setting under the GravityView/General tab of the GravityKit Settings page.

  2. Access the Widget Area
    1. Edit the View where you want the full-width content to appear.
    2. Go to the Widgets section in the View editor.
  3. Add the Widget
    1. If there's a full-width area already available (1), that's great! You just need to add your Widget to it.
    2. Otherwise, you'll need to add a new one (2) by clicking on Add Row (3), and then clicking on the full-width option (4).
  4. Save and Preview
    1. Save your View and check the frontend to ensure the content spans the full page width.
